One more time...

Man, I really suck at blogging, lol! I do good for a few days, and then month of nothing. I am getting focued back on my health, my house, and my family and I need a place to journal my progress... so once more I am blogging.

On Tuesday, when I got home from taking C & D to school, I popped in one of my old "Walk at Home" DVDs and got down to business in the living room while Hubby, M & R were still sleeping. I had forgotten just how much fun it is to do those workouts! After my walk I went on facebook to post about it and I found out they have a Walk Social App on the facebook page & website so I can track my walks on there too. It keeps track of how far you walked and you can also tell it what workout you did. They even have a 11 different Full Version videos for free in the video library :) Wow, that kinds sounds like a commercial for it, lol. I'm just kinda excited about it. That's a really good thing considering how much i've put my health and fitness on the back burner the last few months.

Yesterday my hubby asked me to do some walking while the boys were at football practice. I walked for about 25 minutes, but didn't keep track of distance or anything. Just back and forth between two bridges on the walking path over by the field they are practicing on.

He also asked me to look back into Weight Watchers. I did it on my own (with free info i found online) about 5 years ago and lost about 25 pounds. So I did some internet searching and found most of the info for their updated Points Plus system and the point counting starts today. I'll probably be posting some links and info on here so I can find it all myself incase I loose my interne bookmarks (it's been known to happen). I downloaded a free app onto my phone that has a Points Plus calculator and a simple points tracker too.

My points allowances...

My house is very cluttered. We don't have much storage space in this house and our shed is still unfinished. I just stumbled upon this on my facebook feed today... The One Hour Cleanup ... I think my day of the week should be Thursday (yes, that's today) but I will be starting with the mountain of laundry currently in my living room (well, 2 mountains on couch & chair, then 2 big baskets, plus there's a load in both washer & dryer). I have 4 boys- C (9), D (7), M (3), and R (1). D & M just switched clothing sizes, so i need to make sure to sort out any clothes that need to go in storage boxes (to save for the next in line) or the trash (of it has big stains or holes).
But first, I want food, LOL! :)

Welcome to the Land of La

This is me...

And this is them...

Oh yeah, there are some furry ones too... but it's hard to get good pictures of them.

We live in a tiny, no I mean cozy, little house which lacks in 3 big areas- personality, storage space, and enclosed outdoor space. All 3 of these things will be addressed this year in various (and hopefully cheap) ways.

I'm one of those creative people whose brain never stops spinning. I frequently multi-task and have trouble focusing on one idea because there are too many flying around my head. I generally keep projects going in multiple mediums at the same time and will jump from one to another. If i go too long without doing something i deem a "creative task" i end up feeling very "off".

2011 was a rollercoaster for my family- seeing our highest and lowest points in the past 10 years. We started jobs, quit jobs to stay home, got laid off after injury, started back to work, got laid off, and tried to keep a 6 year old graphic design endeavor going. We survived a flag football season & a tackle football season. Watched my husband take a helmet to his knee in a semi pro game and tear his ACL. Survived a summer all stuck in the house together with daddy "the cripple" and first a pregnant mommy, then a mommy with a newborn... which leads us to welcoming William Ryker White into the family (he goes by Ryker) in June. John had to have ACL surgery in August, but still somehow managed to help coach C's football team. More than half the year (May-Dec) has been spent hoping that somehow we'll be able to pay the necessary bills and keep our house- it's not much, but it's ours.

Our financial situation at this time SUCKS big time.
My house is a cluttered mess.
I've let my weight go unchecked for too long.
I've let my stress (and my husband's) affect my kids more than they deserve.
But i know it's time to change it all!

My word for 2012 is BALANCE... and in I need to find mine.
To find the balance between uberclean and functionally messy.
To find the balance between family time & me time.
To find the balance that will allow me to live my best life

...and this is my journey.
